Core Components:
Folders
There are three possible positions for a folding operation - front,
mid and end. Only Gunther offers the flexibility of folder placement
either mid-stream or down-stream. The results is that inserts can be
either nested within folds, placed outside the fold or a combination
of both. Gunther’s matching technology ensures that documents from
different print streams can be merged by the system and folded
together as a complete document, all with 100% guaranteed integrity.
The
Gunther Folder performs folding operations on primary documents.
When a package has fully accumulated in the buffer, it is sent
directly to the folder to be folded. When using the Folded Mail
Inserter, address pages (after being folded) and mailing envelope
windows are presented face up.
For Versatility machines, where a
convertible folding option can be added, Folding is performed at the
end at the GIN. The GIN accepts the package and stuffs it into the
envelope. It then delivers it to the Tee section where it may be
diverted or sent to the sealing station.
